Cybils Finalists Announced

It's finally happened! About a week ago, the finalists for the 2012 Cybils Awards were announced. This blogger was a member of the graphic novels panel, which is why you've been seeing so many graphic novel reviews here lately. If you want to look at the complete list (and read the blurbs written by yours truly) you can head on over to the Cybils website.

There were some really great titles nominated this year and it's so difficult to narrow the list down to just five. I don't envy the Round Two panelists who have to select a winner from the list of finalists--a very competitive bunch, I can assure you. Be sure to stay tuned because tomorrow (Monday) the folks over at the Cybils blog are going to post a list of titles that didn't quite make the list but were much beloved by panelists nonetheless, including one of my personal favorites. Which one, you ask? You'll have to wait and see.

A very heartfelt thanks to all of the authors and illustrators, who worked so hard to create these incredible titles, and to my fellow panelists, who were an absolute joy to work with. Plus a shout out to the publishers, who provided the panelists with so many free books throughout the process. You guys rock!

(Because seriously, who doesn't love free books?)
